The Problem.... too much trash

Picture
The environment is filled with toxic plastic waste, posing a serious health risk to every living thing on our planet.

Today, Americans generate 10.5 million tons of plastic waste a year but recycle only 1 to 2 % of it. That means that everything else is either incinerated, landfilled, or littered into the environment where it will break down into millions of pieces and bioaccumulate in our food chain.

There is no "AWAY"! Become responsible for your own actions! Landfill whatever plastic waste you generate into a bottle and then into an earth structure, to ensure it doesn't enter into the environment.

A Solution - The Bottle Brick!
How to Make a Portable Landfill Device aka Bottle Brick

Step 1

Picture

Find a plastic bottle, it can be any size just make sure it is DRY inside.

Keep the cap in a safe place for when the bottle is full and start filling

Step 3

Picture
When the Bottle starts filling up, get a stick, or wooden spoon
to TAMP the items down inside the bottle.

This will start compacting the items inside so the bottle can become
as hard as a brick.

Did you know that 26 chip bags can fit into a 20oz plastic water bottle!

Step 2

Fill it with DRY trash. PLEASE NO FOOD GOOP or WATER!
Some items commonly found in the bottle brick

Plastic Bags                               Dental Floss
Vegetable stickers                     Netflix plastic tear off
Plastic protectors on food         Tea bag wrappers
Styrofoam                                    Old Pens
Twistie ties                                  Broken rubber bands

Chip bags...for large bags the best practice is to fold the bag up lengthwise and  twist the bag to get it in the bottle

Step 4

Now that you have your full bottle brick, store it and collect more.

To build a project like a house or a school you will need a lot of bottle bricks.
